Canadian Maple Leaf Quilt Top

I've been busy in the sewing room this week working on a new quilt - yes, finally! I've always wanted to try the Canadian maple leaf design because it's such a recognisable and striking quilt, and the block uses my favourite HST's which I just love! My blocks measure 9" and I've used 2" coins and sashing and a border to finish the top. So it's going to be a nice lap sized quilt.
It's my first, of many! handmade Christmas gifts I'm making for friends and family. This one is the biggest, so I thought I'd get this one out the way first :) it's for my nana - who doesn't read this blog ;)

Right, back to the task at hand! I'm planning to get it basted, quilted and have the binding done this week - I'm a super slooooow quilter, so it's quite a task for me, ha! Wish me luck ;)
Hope you're all having a fun week friends. xo
