Yippee!! I've finally finished my mum's chevron zig zag quilt! I slacked off for a few days but blasted through the binding on Sunday, and managed to capture some great photo's of it in the wonderful weather we had over the weekend :)
I haven't had a chance to give it to her yet, so I hope she likes it! Although she does generally like everything I make, but that's their job, right!? ;)
I combined a range of pink, red and predominantly white background colour choices to give it a cohesive feel, including some of my favourite prints by Pam Kitty Love, Cath Kidston, Liberty and a mix of others from my stash. I backed it in Kona Pearl Pink, which is a great neutral pink colour to create a clean finish, along with a stripe binding to finish :)
Ok so this is my second quilt in two months, which is really quick for me! I don't like setting 'sewing targets' for myself, but I would be thrilled if I could make a quilt a month!! Do you set yourself quilting goals? Or do you just make something when you feel like? Please share, I'd love to hear what you do. xo
It is beautiful. Your mom is very lucky.

ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Jessie!! Love all the pretty pink prints!! xo Heather
ReplyDeleteVery pretty ;)Congratulations! You are making me want to try quilting. <3
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! Well done, I'm sure your mum will absolutely love it (and yes, mums are obliged to, but how could she not love anything as pretty as this?) Love the colour combination that you've used too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday,
xx
Sooooo pretty, love it! x
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this mix of fabrics. red and pink are definitely one of my favourite colour combos!!
ReplyDeleteWow your second finish!
ReplyDeleteI have a pink chevron quilt half quilted that I got bored with, I think I should finish it at long last x
It's beautiful, very pretty and cosy, love it! :) x
ReplyDeleteLOL! I just looked at all the pretty fabrics in your quilt going, "Got it, need it, got it, got it, need it, need it, need it, ..." Sadly, there are too many "need its" and not enough "got its"! Lovely quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love it! And the photo with the blue sky and white cloud is just a beautiful combination of colours. I would love to set goals for my sewing, but I'm just too busy to do that. I sew when I can and get things finished only when i get enough time at them. Side effect of having 3 kids and a part time job!
ReplyDeleteI love the stripy binding to set the whole quilt off. I quilt when I give myself time to play rather than do all the things that NEED doing!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful! :)
